For someone who grew up in the 70's and should therefore have a fairly good working knowledge of the films from that time, I am not ashamed to say I have seen probably like only 5-6 films (don't ask me to name them).

And like 3-4 of those within the last month. . .2 of them this weekend: Black Fist & SuperFly. (I still don't get them. . .)

And probably the only reason I've seen these is because recently some of the independent stations have begun to run more Kung-Fu Theatre & Black Films on Saturdays & Sundays. .

And about 2 weeks ago I saw this film that I have been asking folks what the name of it was. Can someone see if it the parts in it that I describe sound familiar?

Of course, I don't know any of the actors and a couple people have guess Three The Hard Way but in reading the synopsis online. . .I don't think this is it.

Here's select scenes that I recall from the movie:

1. One of the main characters served in the military (maybe Vietnam?) and while he was away his brother was killed so he's trying to investigate his death and it appears that he may have been murdered by a white biker gange because he was kicking it with some White chick.

2. The black biker group stops at this White ladie's house and she feeds them and they spend the night. She offers them the barn and then apologizes for the condition. . there's all kinds of missing planks in it. In the morning as they are leaving, some White man comes over to check on the White lady and see if she's okay because he saw "some of those" fellas over there. During the night the black biker group has fixed the holes in the ladies' barn to repay her hospitality of food & shelter.

3. The black biker group go into a diner and try to have a beer and the White trash countermaid won't serve them even though the White men sitting there are drinking beer. They keep asking for different brands of beers and she keeps saying she doesn't have them. A little altercation breaks out and they leave.

4. The black biker group go into this White biker hangout trying to find out information about the one guy's brother and the police end up coming in to investigate a disturbance and tells everyone they will be back in like 20 minutes and everyone better be gone.

5. One of the members of the White biker group from the bar goes and talks to the head of another White biker group and tries to solicit their help in fighting the Black biker group.

6. The Black biker guy has a militant (younger) sister with an afro who keeps calling him a sell-out/Uncle Tom for going to fight in the White man's war, yada, yada, yada. . .

Those are about all I remember because I'm not sure how far into the movie I came in and I think (well, I actually know) I fell asleep.

I grew up in the 70's, but I realized there are a few movies that I haven't seen. I have been on the blaxplotation kick here lately. My Blockbuster que is filled with them. The last one I looked at was Black Gunn with Jim Brown. Pretty good movie, I enjoyed it.

I think I have seen the above movie, will have to see if its available with Blockbuster and add it to my que.

Okay, what a coincidence or they've got the same DVD. . .they showed The Black Gestapo last night. Since I ordered it, I went to bed instead of watching it.
