it's too easy to call the cali folks to the mat....

but in actuality....

WE ALL should be called out....

for not propertly planning to attend this event that we have every year.....the pinnacle of our existence....

but it happens every year....some folks are just LEFT BEHIND........there are a myriad of excuses that can preclude you from this event....

And you know, there is still the underlying reason that comes clearer into focus for some more than others.

They could give a flip about meeting ANY OF US. . .not everyone wants their worlds to collide.

I'm still contemplating meeting some of ya'll negroids. . .

Interesting concept - several regionals have faltered as well.

u touch upon THE POINT....

the question...

"Is the HUSH what it used to be...worthy of meeting with folks that you've shared your innermost struggle...your innermost secret with?" or ...if we really inspect this...we will find that the hush is NOT the same...that folks rarely post their PERSONAL lives.......a place where you are more likely to find threads about "What color boo boo are you?" than about a struggle or a success in our lives.

Hmmm, interesting inquiry.

I think I've stated as much as I ever have, except a few things that I just don't believe are worth mentioning. I can state them and see if those threads fly or flop. . .LOL.

I don't think that is it Que. Up to this point, most folks have shared LOTS of personal information. And those "What kind of fungus are you" kinda threads is kinda recent and does not really affect anything. That is just you "pork barreling" your own dislike with this current issue. Which is ok. I ain't complaining.

Bright. I agree that some are more interested in meeting than others.

But I do agree with what que said earlier. If there is any virtual browbeating, then it shouldn't just be the Cali folks.

And I will say it again...to move this beyond a bunch of hot air... there need to be names put behind the fussing..

ok...

granted...there has been a little bit of sharing....

but for most....

that is where it stops....sharing with internet entities.....

but what used to make the hush special....

THE CARING....

THE WORRYING ABOUT....

....

we have to recapture it....

recapture it enough for folks to easily spend $300plus on a flight to meet with friends.

It's all still about an individuals WANTS or NEEDS. . .if I don't WANT you caring about me then what do I do? Not interact, not make an attempt to get close. . .some people may be in this boat

Well...

I am no glutton for punishment.

Hushnic would be nicer for me. There would be a better "balance" of folks...so to speak.

I think that it would be good to "recapture" it.

But I don't think that we need to 'go back' to do that. I think that we need to 'evolve' somewhat.

A lot of folks has been sharing on this board....so I still do not know if "sharing" is the core issue. I think that there are other issues related to:

Folks taking things too seriously.
Hush infactuations etc
Hush fuggin
Hush thuggin
Hush Drama
Hush Games (not the good kind).
Hush Fighting

We all are guilty of at least some of the above.

Just wondering. . .specifically was the hush fuggin' beneficial or detrimental?

hmm I'm going to take my time and word this carefully -

I am a believer in the 'double standard' everything in the world is not equal get over it - we cant' be equal and judged fairly about what we do either.

I've always felt that hush fuckery NEVER does the female any justice. It, to me, has sullied the females on the board.

I don't think in my heart of hearts that the men, though they joke, really look at us with the upmost respect. They might like us, they might even somewhat respect alot of us - but the people who benefit least from this type of drama is the woman.

I always think there is back conversation going on - even if it's in one's head about any fuckery, be it hush or not that we are participating and reporting about.

where's that old thread

RELATIONSHIPS WILL CAUSE THE DEMISE OF THE HUSH.

zuriyahe
06-28-2005, 11:50 AM
But believe me. It is NOT the "relationships" that will kill the hush.

It is the secret underground hush fuckery that can kill the hush.
It is the folks having online grudges against folks on the hush...can kill the hush.

Relationships and partners should be encouraged and welcomed.

que90nek

without relationships...

we would be a bunch of anonymous people that could post freely without preconceived notions...without drama....

thus allowing folks to post more freely........and ....more often.

Good points.

However, what is respect?

What does it mean to say that men do not look at women with respect?

In these cases, I truely think that it goes both ways.

And those that do not give out respect should be called out. Too many chicks are drawn to bad boys. Clearly they should not be surprised by what they get when they get with those kind of guys.

But I think that we can form relationships without identities and without the drama.

Why do we have drama anyway? Maybe that would be a good question to ask.

But I do think that it is about:

Fuckery
Oldhush vs New hush
Young vs Old
Holding on to old grudges instead of letting go
Taking one's personal views PERSONALLY

etc.

Seriously why would I want to go sightseeing in the bay area w/other folks from the bay area. Splain that to me? (Although I haven't ridden the cable cars in ages).

Even when that relationship is brought here, to the Hush for the purpose of flaunting it in front of the face of someone your mate was involved with? I don't think that should be encouraged.
