Fam, yall know I got issues at the new JOB, right? Well, the otherday, my manager tells me that I am being promoted to the business group, but since I'm a temp, I gets no raise!
The raise will come when I go perm? So, I'm 1/2 happy to be recognised, but as Gangsta Boo would say "Where Dem Dollas At?":D
Just part of my on going frustration with the JOB. Thanks for letting me vent.

Did they atleast ask you if you wanted it?

Are you working through a temp agency?
If so then they have a contract with the company for your services and if the company wants to hire you perm or promote you they have to buy your contract from the temp agency.
My guess is they are not willing to do that so they are trying to play the ole "We'll make you permanent if you kiss our asses".
Ask for a definate date and a promise of being perm in writing Admin otherwise you could do this higher paid job for less money for awhile and then be out the door...in a single file line.

I agree with Tastey, it's not really a promotion to me if it's not accompanied by a pay increase.

But I am caught in a catch 22 situation. I'm over qualified for the position I had when I came in the door. So, I am at least happier with some more responsibilty, (as yall said that I should be the Manager and not my manager:D right?) but as anyone...I want my Dollas with my promotion and not after it.
So, that's why I took it....I WAS BORED! Now, I am a perm and have asked of a hire date, but you know what they are waiting for? Jan. 01, 2002.
Now, I'm hoping that the tech market will open up and I will be able to jump ship after Jan. 01, 2002...so I am not trippin' about this job and the BS. I mean they think I'm triuppin or they think I'm crazy...but any smart person would go to HR and look at my resume and know right off the bat that I'm bouncin ASAP.

I know what you mean, I'm biding my time at my current job and not letting it out that as soon as things go on the upswing I am gonna biz-ounce.
I told someone that employers nowadays now they've got you between a rock and a hard place with the way the economy is currently. It's smart not to make too many waves and get "ciditty" or that can send you packing as well.
Shit's rough all over, basically. . .

Before I tip out the door though. . .I'm gonna "LET" the company pay for a couple of banking classes for me. . .I'm just mad they aren't offering economics, global banking or trust operations .

Took my drug test this morning and PASSED with flying colors...all they found was Coffee and Donuts in my urine:D
So, I'll get my new hire package ASAP....hopefully by the first week in January.
