DEF POETRY......I loved it!!!!...talent, inspirational,just down right RAW!!!...It's entertainment like that, that makes me wish I lived in NY or Chicago............. :beer

I loved it, too Chey. . .so much that I watched it twice in re-runs. They need to expand it to a full hour.

The one girl slayed 'em when she spit the verse about Timothy McVeigh. . .she was the best and then the black guy right before her.

Ya'll have some poetry reads out there don't you? I go to a little cafe here every now and then plus there's always stuff going at/near the local college.

Another good show last night, Sonia Sanchez read a piece and so did Jewel (white singer). . .I like the way they have amateur or up & coming intermingled with established or published poets.

I've always thought Mos Def was kinda unique in his lyrics, I think some of the better rappers/singers are better classified as lyricists.
