Hush fam, after the age of 18,have you ever moved in with relatives or had relatives move in with you? How was the experience? Good, bad or just plain ugly?

I stayed with my cousin for a little over a year...it was fun we partied like crazy...thats were I met my baby daddy and got pregnant, got drunk for the first time, smoked weed for the first time...had a lot of firsts there.

About three years ago i moved to MD to be with my sister and to get myself together. Best thing i ever did. Now i am school, church, having wonderful relationships with all types of people, jobs where i have aquired much experience. I dont consider myself staying with my sister. More like roomates..but it did take a minute for me to feel like i wasnt living in my sister place..but that it was our place.

Moved to LA......daughter and I packed up the 67 volkswagon...with our glad rags....put-putted thru the grapevine....Landed on my sister's doorsteps...3rd Ave and 65th..it was good for about a year or so.....Then I got caught up in the party and Hollywood hype of Los Angeles.....had to have my on spot eventually....cause I had to do it Chey's way......valuable lessons learned.....

Have had a neice or nephew stay with me....but...I made it clear...this shit is temporary...get it together......work, go to school...do something....only my daughter can pimp me... :blah: ...I find when you spell it out from the gate they then can accept it or reject it...ain't no sense in be being unhappy...

I was just talking to a guy in car pool about this. We discussed how back in the day, when you moved away (out of state especially), you moved in with relatives until you got a job and got on your feet and this was normal practice. He and my co worker agree that now a days you can't do that because you just don't know how folks are and how they were raised and what kind of issues they bring with them. I would love to do this though. Plenty of young cousins fresh out of college wanting to come to cali and live for a few months just to see if they like it. Make agreement that they chip in on some bills if they stay longer than a month and they get a good experience out of it and tarry on to the next life experience. My mom on the other hand don't like the idea at all! lol

Yeah, I moved back with my mom back when I was 23. My mom has always been my backbone to keep me moving (RIP). Shit I wish she was here now I would be living with her...makes life alot easier when you have a good support system.
