My hair is so brittle...It breaks so much.. even if I brush it...what am I doing wrong?
I wash it weekly... condition it with motions CPR, bought all kinds of oils and grease... Doo Grow and Motions anti breakage products, is the latest thing I got.
Anyone have any tips that have been known to work miracles?

Are you taking any kinds of medication? Cause this can sometimes cause problems with your hair.

hot oil treatments...
ive taken some of the "african" oils that you can use for your skin, and nails and hair and this and that....
and done a hot oil treatment...and my hair felt quite nice afterwards.
one of my girlfriends did this homemade one on my hair once...with some olive oil and someother crap.
my hair felt splendid then as well.

I often use good ole Mayonaise (sp) and eggs. I use 1/2 cup mayo and 1 egg, work thru hair and sit with a cap on it for about 3-5 mins. Rinse and wash throughly. Leaves it silky, lol....

I used mayo once, neva again... It didn't do nothing for me.. but had me paranoid that roaches were gonna come eat me(I was 14) ...
I have the hot oil Motions perm.. does that count? I just bought it.. and how do you do the olive oil treatment..?

no my daughter has this problem, but she doesn't like grease in her hair, so she'll use lotions.
maybe you are washing it too much.
pick up some 911 leave in conditioner (the creme) it's in a blue bottle......this stuff is excellent. I also use the liquid one if and when i was my daughter and mines hair......if your hair tangles up after washing, this is the stuff to get.

I was planning to post something about hot oil treatments & brushes.
I'm in the process of letting my hair grow. . .which is very hard for me to do.
I don't "grease" my scalp or use oil sheen but I do massage oil into my hair and ends and pin it up. And I fluff my hair with my fingers or a lift not a comb.
How much heat/heat appliances do you use on your hair? Daily? This could be a contributing factor as well.

Thinking back on your health issues from a couple months ago... it could be your thyroid. I know that it can cause problems with the hair and skin if it's out of wack.

As a "licensed cosmetologist" I can tell you that you SHOULD NOT be using the CPR Reconstructor withougt following through with a MOISTURIZING conditioner. The CPR is a "protein conditoner" which hardens the cuticle, you need to follow with a conditioner that will then in turn moisturize your hair. You need to go to the shop and have someone look at your scalp and do an elasticity test on your hair.
Medications and stress can also cause hair breakage....but you are to loose between 70-175 strands of hair per day. As long as you are not getting "clumps" of hair this can be treated.

i would also think a good trim...to get rid of split end and crap.
do that and a good conditionor or hot oil treatment.
should do something well.

I was going to recommend what dejavu said. My hair started doing that, and my hair stylist would use nexxus humectress on my hair, cover it with a plastic cap, and I sit under a dryer for 20 minutes.

Tried & True to get you started. Not sure of your length....
You will need the following: Baggie Method
Your favorite oil(s)
1 plastic sandwich bag, freezer bag, or piece of a plastic bag.
2 covered rubber bands or satin type bands (dont use an actual rubber band) if dont have any of these use a scrunchie.
outta all the oils you have, pick 1 or 2 that coat your hair the best and mix them together in your hands to put all over your hair, pull all your hair into a pony tail, either on top or to the back. be sure to put extra oil on the ends of your hair.
after adding oil, used 1 band to hold hair as taut as you like. take plastic bag and cover entire ponytail secure bag with band and use a silk/satin scarf to tie up your head...
When you remove in the AM your ends will have been protected and moisten all nite, if you do this nightly you will see major difference in just a few days.
If possible try to limit the heat you use on your hair! Also try (before washing) Extra Virgin olive oil heavily saturated on your hair cover with plastic cap for 30 min, longer if really dry. Then wash as normal, you will feel a difference.
