I got this from the KRON 4 site, you can do a search for Savings Bond money free to see if you are due money.

You can also check with the treasury department to find lost savings bonds. And you may be surprised at their value. A $25 bond bought 30 years ago is now worth $135. There are $7.3 billion in bonds that have not been cashed according to the Treasury Department. Also, if you're retired, check the government's unclaimed pension database for free. There's about $20 million in it. To reach the California unclaimed property department call 1-800-992-4647 or visit www.sco.ca.gov

For savings bonds go to www.savingsbonds.com
And for unclaimed pension searches call 1-800-326-LOST

I know our people dont usally buy them, but its good information anyway.

Rock on

I lost two savings bonds 10 years ago. They were on my dresser one minute (waiting to be put away) and gone the next. I figure either my mother took them and cashed them in or some guys working on the house took them :(
