Ok, i have not wanted to admit that I ride with this song played as loud as i can get it until now. LOL well now i dont care what people think but back in the day when this song was out you couldnt pay me to admit that I liked it.

Swing Out Sister (Breakout)

Well, i decided to look up the lyrics today since I was bobbin my head to it this afternoon and it makes perfect sense to me why I felt so attached to this song as a kid. Those who know me will know what i mean (or have a clue anyway) lol

Artist: Swing Out Sisters
Album: Another Non-stop Sister
Title: Breakout

When explanations make no sense
When every answer's wrong
You're fighting with lost confidence
All expectations come

The time has come to make or break
Move on don't hesitate
Breakout

Don't stop to ask
Now you've found a break to make at last
You've got to find a way
Say what you want to say
Breakout

When situations never change
Tomorrow looks unsure
Don't leave your destiny to chance
What are you waiting for
The time has come to make your break
Breakout

Don't stop to ask
Now you've found a break to make at last
You've got to find a way
Say what you want to say
Breakout

Don't stop to ask
Now you've found a break to make at last
You've got to find a way

Say what you want to say
Breakout

Some people stop at nothing
If you're searching for something
Lay down the law
Shout out for more
Breakout and shout day in day out
Breakout

Breakout

Don't stop to ask
Now you've found a break to make at last
You've got to find a way
Say what you want to say
Breakout

Don't stop to ask
Now you've found a break to make at last
You've got to find a way
Say what you want to say
Breakout

Lay down the law
Shout out for more
Breakout and shout day in day out

Breakout

Shout out for more

I just heard my bones creak when you talk about the 80s and say " when i was a kid..." :)

Breakout was one of those songs that crossed over, like Hall and Oates music. I listened to it, bought the album, and the album Swing Out Sister made after that. That singer had nice vocals, and they were in front of that Acid Jazz wave of artists like The Brand New Heavies and Incognito. The Brits have the knack for that crisp cadence that takes on a sort of Carribbean bounce sometimes.
