Nice Bar/Club for Hushnic 2005

My husband and I went to a really nice new bar in Oakland, Lukka's. Don't know if any of you in the Bay have been there, but it really nice. We went on Saturday night, $5 cover, drinks are reasonable, and the played a mix of old school and the lastest hip-hop. It was a mixed crowd, but not full of youngins, LOL. Just wanted to throw that out there, if you all are looking for a nice place to have drinks and dance a bit. Oh they also have a pool table in the back, and they serve food (which is good).

Not to bust ya bubble, but I been there too. The chicks I was with kept complaining that it was a GAY spot. They saw many DL brothas. This dude had a group of friends invite one of the girls, and we ended up leaving cause they were like it is too many gay brothas....

You didnt burst a bubble. I didnt notice any DL brothas (like they really have a flashing DL sign around their necks), cause every man in the place was drooling lookin at my ass. But anyways, DL brothas are all over, even at Jimmies, Za Zoos, etc, hell you can't run from em, cause you don't know who they are. The thing about Lukas, that I liked, is that there werent any thugged out knuckle-heads causing a ruckus. It was a nice quiet place to have a few drinks and get your dance on. It's not a usual club meat market. And I think I would be a nice place to go out for Hushnic event.

It's located where Broadway and Grand Ave meets on the corner. It's where the hofbrau (sp) use to be, near the Paramount.

Wow, you haven't been to Oakland in a while then. Shame on you Admin, LOL....;) They closed about 2 years ago. Luka's opened about 6-7 months ago. I can say that Oakland is slowly on the raise again.

There are other places in Oakland like that, my boy Frank runs a spot across from Jessos. It is tight and cool peeps that aint gay, but others have told me Lukas is a gay spot.

They opened up a nice sports bar, where the old Edgewater used to be, across from the Airport Hilton.

There is also a spot called Giovannis, any one been there, I hear its nice, CTHU, just don't do happy hour at E & J's in jack london.

I mentioned Luka's simply because it's new and it's a nice atmosphere. No matter if there are Keeblers or Gay folks there, it's still a nice place. All the clubs you've mentioned are common knowledge to anyone that's been here or lives here. The majority of them I've done my time there, nothing new about Jimmies, Geofrey's, ZaaZoo's, Mingles, etc... Plus these hyphee wanna be adults make me not wanna do to the club anymore.

Luka's is a nice place to meet up for drinks and go somewhere else. Seems to me, you have the problem with Luka's and are discouraging people to even have a look see.

I see you didnt mention the End Zone or the VI. Why is that..... Too ghetto?
