I have the e-marketing book that I purchased for ideas to market my book and really that's what it reccommends.

It says to just join, post, and hang out because if you only post as an advertisement you turn people off.

It reccommends having your website in your sig, or even a banner...but not soliciting at all until you know who you are dealing with.

I've joined 10 other boards this week (as if I wasn't on enough lol) but none are just ads. I post, and my website is in my sig. Got a few hits that way too.
