Actually, they plowed into the toy store to start, and the lines were what they said as they drove thru the mall, crashing into shit left and right. I think a stuntwoman got hurt bad in that initial crash thru the store.

I remember seeing that in school, and after a little smoke and drink, so we were laughing off our asses, impressed at how outrageous it got, kept going over the top, even that car chase on Wacker Drive in Chi-Town was the most exstensive at the time, and hard to pull off because of the logistics with city government. The car chase and the assault on Daly Plaza drove the costs of the movie to an all time high, which was 50 million or so at that time.
