...but as long as its left up to the individual, it's going to be all over the place. So many are just ignorant about it.

I remember way back when I was working a restaurant gig, and a waitresses was raging about a table of French tourists that had a $600 tab and left $18. Wish I had taped it, the spew of expletives was a work of art, a verbal smorgasbord of profane derivations.

True.. and by the same token, there are servers that give really shitty service. Rude, and don't want to serve you, screw up your order, never come back to refill your drink or ask if everything is okay. I won't tip for bad service.

If that had been me, she wouldn't have gotten the dollar. Maybe just the note, but no dollar.
