Color Schemes (Redecorating)

I'm going to do some minor redecorating so I just wanted to hear what people's colors & themes are at the moment.

I'm updating the kitchen, my bathroom and my bedroom.

I painted my kitchen awhile back. The ceiling is white and the walls are a brown. While painting my husband said it looked like a chocolate milk shake. The chair cushions and place mats and towels are a brick red.

In my middle bathroom, I will be painting the walls a light blue with a white ceiling. The accessories are a porcelein white and the towel racks are chrome. I already have the soap dish, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, towels which are white with light blue trim, I have the towel racks. I just havent' done anything in there because I want the tub & shower replaced and the ugly yellow & white tile torn down. Just don't have the money for that yet.

I have some other redecorating to do, but don't know what colors yet.

I'm going for the Mediterranean feel with my kitchen and I may let that spill over into the diningroom as far as napkins & placemats, etc.

I've got some rugs that I bought and want to work around. The pattern is called Olive Branch. It's colors are black, khaki, olive green and it has this plant on it. So I'm going to try to incorporate accessories with that plant.

And has anyone ever put down ceramic tile themselves?

Nah, but I help my uncle cut some when I was younger.

As far as colors and patterns go, we've got a lot of bright, warm colors in our room and the rest of the house is earth tones (brown, black, beige, red)

I've been thinking I want to redo the living room in a deep purple color, but it's hard finding furniture that doesn't look cheap or cheesy in that color
