I went to check out some various b/c and is quite interested in the IUD...

Its the oldest method of b/c and came out in the 50's. They have 3 kinds...one last 5 years, the next 8 years, and the next 10 years. I was told they work quite well and is the best alternative norplant (which a lot of medical offices don't do any more) and tubal sterilization. Pratictioners are quite surprise why more women don't use it considering the effectiveness and the ease of using it. Health insurances across the globe covers it because its the cheapest form of b/c with the best benefits.

can any sistahs share some light on this for me? have you tried this or know others who experience this...

or men? (since ya'll know everythang! :D )

what about those spermicidals and creams? no oral sex for you buddy...

Back in the day...I don't believe they perfected then...I know two women that had serious complication, uncontrollable bleeding and cramping..so bad that they had to go to the hospital and have them removed.....so that has always stayed in my mind....of course this was in the 70's.....I'm not sure about now....

However, from past expierences I found the sponge to be ok....for some serious fucking...or just good ole' trusty latex...ya know???

Since I'm in my 40's...and many a women have had a change in life baby...i still need to pratice safe sex,,,,,, and birth control....
and these two methods work just fine for me!!!

Now when I was your age.....it was The Pill all the way....check out the lowest dosage, read up on all choices and decide...

I always found Family Planning has a slew of info on Birth control...

thing is...i tried the pill....MANY MANY MANY times...and i WILL forget...therefore...if homey's condom breaks...i will get prego.

PLUS...since i smoke...it reduces the effectiveness of the pill and raise my risk for heart attacks and what ever the other stuff is.

but...the sponge????????? ... going to plannedparenthood.com right now...

I ain't fooling with no IUD. . .there were still stories of internal lacerations in the mid-80's which is when I started getting busy :p

As for the sponge. . .:blah: . . .that's how I conceived with my daughter. . .I know they had taken them off the market in the early 90's for that very reason, the pregnancy incidence was too high/unpredictable.

I'll take a good ol' condom and some feminine suppositories such as Semicid or spermicide or look into one of those cervical caps or diaphragms.

Okay Bright......but....using the spermicidals and creams or suppositories......when do you put it in? AFTER the oral sex? or what? or do you just not have oral sex? Don't you have to use it an hour before intercourse or something?

Educate me lady...

A few years ago I wanted to get off the pill and started looking at some other forms of b/c. The IUD was an option for a minute, until I started reading all the information about permanent damage from usage. I tried the sponge, and that worked pretty good. But they took those off the market. Now I take the easy way out and just use a condom.

has one and she has not had any problems with it. She gets it checked regularly and seems not to have any side effets. You can try it and if it does not work for you then have it removed.
