Yo Fam, this morning I had a phone interview and the person asked me "What makes you ANGRY?"
I did not know what to say, I mean has any hiring manager ever asked you this question before and if so, what is the proper answer?

I think those are one of those 'put your foot in your mouth' questions....you probably handled it well by not saying anything....
but I guess they are trying to see what you capacity for abuse is....
I would tell then that I dont get angry....(just even :D.... deep under my breath)

This is an excellent question....
normally you don't get this type of question over the phone....
but....it really depends upon the level of responsibility/CHEESE that they are about to invest.
a good answer could have been:
I really don't get angry because anger is caused by emotion. I do however become concerned when I see a person disregarding a customer or not trying to solve problems (etc etc)

sounds like they're trying to see how you handle conflict in a round about way..
I also agree with the answer about not getting angry...

In my field (administrative assitants) we get asked this all the time because we deal with the HIGHEST forms of stress on all levels no matter where it comes from. But it sounds more like this "how do you handle a stressful day?" or "do you handle stress well?" or they give us scenarios where co workers and managers are fuckin up.
I admit the truth. I say: "Yes, I get quite upset. Don't you? If you don't, then you are one lucky human who do not have to deal with the emotion of anger. I get angry at my family, friends, and yes, my co workers. BUT, how i handle that anger is what you should REALLY want to know. And how do i handle it you may ask up under your breath? I say "be right back...need to calm down." go out side and breath air and take a walk around the block. that is how i handle it. and when i come back...its time to deal with the situation because i am now...calm! :D

But it's best we don't light that fuse...we're mature individuals so, I'm sure for all problems there's a solution...
