I saw this movie for the first time on BlackStarz lastnight - I knew about it beacuse of Mario's film "How to Get the Man's Foot Outta Your Ass" - which was a documentary about the film. I knew that Mario was made to do a sex scene that he did not really want to do....

But my goodness... after seeing this film lastnight ... shouldn't this be considered kiddie porn? Has anyone else seen this? He was 12 at the time sexing this much older woman at the very start of the movie...

Seems like they would ban the movie... or atleast the scene... i felt guilty as hell watching it....

That was a crazy ass movie, but I can believe that it was true for some reason.....I dont recommend anyone watching it though.

I came across this movie a few years back. I caught it right at the beginning as it was coming on. That scene with the 12 year old Mario was unbelieveable. I sat there with my mouth hanging open. I couldn't move to shut off the tv. After about the first 30 minutes, I turned it off and went to sleep. I haven't run across this movie on cable since then.

mario even did a sort of remake/behind the scenes
with his movie bad ass.
not the greatest movie but the black guy gets away after killing a cop
how often did you see that in the 70's let alone today

I compare it to two other movies of about that time.
The MPAA didnt know what to do with them either so they all got an X.

You had to throwout your notions about watching a movie and what a movie is, and just go for the ride.
With Sweetback though, it was so rough in it's production quality. Who knows what kind of budget Peeples had to work with. That was no Cosby/Poitier film, so backing was probably non existent.

Well, I haven't seen "How to Get the Man's Foot Outta Your Ass"...but I will have too. Both 2001 and Clockwork Orange were trippy movies!

I wanna see "Omega Man" and "Soylent Green" (both movies starring Charleston Heston)

with all the uproar regarding kiddie pornography these days you would think that they would ban this scene... or a cable channel should be worried about showing something like this for fear that someone watching would be offended and complain... and/or sue... i for one NEVER want to see it again... it really kind of bothered me..
