I thought about this topic while people watching and reading other forums. You hear/see women name drop about certain designers, etc. You have some women say they will never be caught dead in "fake this or fake that" and all the while sporting fake nails, hair, eyes, breasts, etc?
What "fake" items will you personally use, buy or wear?

I am going on record to say that I am subject to wear just about anything fake if the style appeals to me. The one thing I don't do is fake designer (ie: fake Coach, LV, Gucci)
Being a designer-inspired article is something totally different.

Out side of nails and body parts - what fake items won't I indulge in is the question, lol
I rarely even shop major store (though I said I was going to try this year). I try not to go really cheap looking but I'm the sista that wears SMELLS LIKE _______ insert some expensive parfume here, lol
What's the big deal? I don't know these people and wearing their name around is advertising for them - Tommy is not my name, lol
So let's see, I indulge in fake:
pocketbooks
hair
perfume
groceries (as in store brand)
clothes
and let me beat you to it: Yea I'm a NO NAME NIGGRESS!! LOL LOL

although..I'm thinking about breaking on down for the amber louie v...i really dig it....
can't fake the fragances....no knock offs, no avon,....me loves to smell good.....
and to be honest...If i could afford it every stitch I wear would be top-shelf...but that's only in my dreams......something about a good shoe, boot, suit,coat..that does a body good.... ;)
oh..let me clarify...not hip-hop gear or sneakers...lol,lol, chey don't do that.

I can't say that I would never wear, but I know I don't wear fake perfume or fake designer clothes. But then again I don't wear designer clothes period. The only fake thing I guess would be my hair.

I wear non-brand stuff. As long as it looks nice and not real cheap, I will wear it. I am a clearance shopper queen. If I run across name brand thats on sale and within my price range, I will buy it. I don't buy Tommy though. His stuff just doesn't appeal to me that much.

still being a slave to fashion that ive always been i gotta ROCK LABELS...
and you find that its not the NAME that you paying for like ya MOMs and dems always told you .. some of those NAME BRAND / DESIGNER items are just made better and last LONGER !!!
you go out and buy 2 POLO KNIT shirts .... one from WALMART and the other from a DESIGNER ( RALPH LAUREN , HILFIGER, ETC ) and see which one fades, loses its ORIGINAL FEELING or just plain falls apart on ya AFTA a YEAR!
i still have HILFIGER jeans from 7 years ago !!! i do manual labor in them but they are comfortable..
but dont get me wrong growing up in 1 of the fashion MECCAS of the world.. ive learned from WHITE people that some shit you can get away with KNOCKOFF....
you should see all the WHITE people on CANAL.ST in NYC buying some of the BEST KNOCKOFF WATCHES, PURSES and SHOES......
and as far as PURSES and shit goes i can bring to FREDDY on canal st and he'll tell you to PICK the bag that you want out of the MANUFACTUERS catalogue..and he'll pull out the same bag (serial numbers.. BRANDED STAMP[coach] and all) for ya !

I wear whatever I find that I like. I prefer name brands and have been blessed enough to be able to afford them but I will rock a designer inspired outfit. I also am not into trends. I tend to be a classic type of lady. My clothes and shoes (I am a shoe whore) tend to be able to worn through all types of fashion trends. I like it that way too. I believe in buying that DKNY little black dress. A little black dress nevers goes out of style and I have had one of mine for 6 years already and it still looks good. I also have different clothes for different events. My work clothes are NOT the clotes I go out in. Consequently, I actually spend more on my clothes I go out in because I know I won't be wearing it but maybe once a year if that. When I buy work clothes and shoes I basically bank on wearing them at least every other month.

Do you realize how much spending money folks would have to take with them?
I visited the Fashion District in LA and could have easily spent a whole weekend just shopping there.

I will do more "designer-inspired pieces and looks" than anything. I do have some labels I prefer more than others when it comes to a certain staple piece of clothing. It all depends on how much use I am going to get out of it.
I have in the past worn fake hair and nails but it's been so long now that I probably don't have much of a desire to do either of those anymore.
As I said before I won't carry a fake designer purse but I may carry a particular cut which is based on a designer look.
When it comes to shoes, I prefer "real" brands as opposed to "fake" ones but I do have some Payless casuals tossed into my mix of things.
