Damn I'm trying to come to Hushnic!

For some strange reason this morning my commute thoughts were on how to get to Cali, lol lol I guess I'm looking at the summer and vacation etc. I don't know.

I've never been to Cali (any part of it) so I really see this as an opportunity to walk on Cali Concrete and I be damn if I shouldn't be old enough to figure out how to finance a trip for my own ass, lol It's been years since I just went somewhere - not to mention I want to do karaoke with Zuri :blah:

So I was calculating ways to get the hell out to the west coast

My obstacles:

Broke

If it's the August weekend I think (I still don't see where the date is) then that coincides with my daughter starting middle school and peeps I can't miss that! So I'll be a red-eye catching sista to make it home in time to get her ready etc.

Who is going to watch her while I am carousing with Californians? LOL


Ways around them:

I looked at the calendar and I get paid THREE TIMES in July - take most of that check and use it for Hushnic especially if I can stay with my girl while I'm out there :) if I can't - I can do the hotel thing, just cutting into my spending money.

I'm gonna start a 'vacation fund' and sock away $20 or so a paycheck starting tax time with a bigger deposit for all my vacation needs (cause I am taking Sakinah to the beach as a combo her graduation and my birthday celebration)

Come in on Thursday or something (based on the rest of the folks) so I can have me a good 48 hours or so there.

My girlfriend has decided to start trying to procreate August of this year, so she said that she wanted to start watching her friends kids. Now Sakinah actually has been earmarked to be her child's babysitter - and I won't be taking her up on her offer EXCEPT to come to Hushnic. She lives near the airport and she's a teacher so she'll be off - so it's PERFECT.

Seriously though, you only have a fear of flying because you probably don't understand the dynamics of how that plane actually lifts off the ground and stays in the air. So what are the DATES for Hushnic. Exactly what part of Cali? Is there a specific hotel(group rate) or is it just stay where you want too? A sista needs some more details ya'll so the planning and saving(and cohercing grandparents to babysit) can begin.

A lot of the members usually come in on Thursday.

I believe we will be in the Sacramento/Fairfield area.

I am trying to figure out if I will be able to come. I am going to work on socking away some money for this occasion. I had such a wonderful time in New Orleans and Atlanta, I just can't miss it this year.
