after working every holiday.
every night.
every weekend.
for two years...

a sista if finally gone get her a "regular" job.

M-F 8-5 (WHAT  )

thanksgiving off. day after.

listen to this.

two paid weeks off for christmas! (and jasmine will be in MASS with her father..two weeks..no work...no school...no baby...WHAT :eek) )

i havent formally accepted..cause the director is trying to see how he can allow me to finish this semester...i go to classes in the morning...before he comes up with the contract.

it is a slight drop in pay. but i told him after working such raggedy hours for two years he could pay me a dollar an hour and id go after it...lol.

i hate not having health insuarance for three months...during the probation period...:(

thank you Jesus!

Have you factored in the child care expenses with the drop in pay?
Has your prospective employer been able to give you an approximate cost for insurance coverage?
Are you going to incur any additional costs associated with accepting this job?

Not trying to be a "killjoy" but I know that these were some of the things I considered when job-searching.

Hope all goes well because nothing beats a traditional 8-5/9-5 job.

And I know what you mean about the two weeks off during Christmas..........my job before this one, we shutdown during the holidays and ran skeleton crews and the Finance Dept. could work or not work..........I'd go in 4 hrs. some days to clock the overtime........ah, those were the days!!!!!! Till those mf'ers laid me off!!!!!!!!! BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope its not to soon to say congrates.

I know what you mean with the hours
people look at me like Im crazy for turning down positions that pay more
I tell them its the hours.
my hours are 7:30-3:30 and Im usually home by 1.
I think its worth a little less money.

with my evening and weekend hours im paying almost 300.00 a month in child care...so this will be a decrease in hours.

my insurance is covered. jasmines would cost me 200.00 a month...but right now with my current job her father also has insurance for her...so right now it wont be a problem...unless he start to acting crazy (which has been known to happen..lol)

the job is closer to me. there will be some traveling. (a training in Colorodo in may...:D )

good questions bright...

im very cautious about "big" decisions.

Good for you Lovely.

Personally I don't like the traditional 8-5 hrs but they do work best when you have kids.

I'm currently 11am-8pm M-F and I prefer that because I have my mornings free after my son leaves for school.

im going to have to get used to getting up and having to be at work all early every weekday morning.

my current job is 11-8 with weds and thurs. off.

i was getting off at 8..by the time id get jasmine and get home it was 9. too late to do homework and stuff with her.

or put her into any extracurricular activies..which is something she really needs.

you are so right about that. my son wanted to play football this year but there was no way I could do it with my schedule.

Hey. . .that's sounding better an additional $3K.

Are you enrolled in your college in the Continuing or Adult Education program (or do they even have that?) If not, see if any schools in the area offer similar programs.

The majority of universities here offer classes knowing that people have to work 40 hrs. a week in addition to wanting to pursue a degree. . .they are much more lenient with class schedules and a lot of times it an "at your own pace" type of set-up and maybe only 5-8 mandatory class sessions.

I know that once you've sat out of school, that time can just slip away from you when it comes to attempting to further education or obtain a degree.
