I know it points to the diversity that makes us a unique people, or better, a diversity that makes us as fully rounded as any other race of people. But I marvel at what can be going on in someone's head to make them decide that this is the personal fashion statement they want to make. I guess if there can be the Gothic types, the heavily tattooed or pierced types, this might actually be mild in comparison. All I know is at Lincoln U's graduation, once blondie came on the scene, I found it hard to concentrate on the speeches anymore. I had to keep looking, in awe, so I finally snapped a pic so I could be assured that I saw what I saw, that it wasn't just he heat playing tricks on my mind. Homegirl in the red was an after thought.

Pride.....
Whatever happened to Black Pride? Black folks do not want to be disrespected, they will cut ya over that, but pay dearly to look like clowns in the street? I wish we could...roll back time to the 1970's????

I don't think it looks that bad. It reminds me of cake. The lady at the bottom, that's how a lot of people wear their hair.

The blonde looks like a wig to me. Near the edges I think I see her black hair peeking out.

The red. Maybe it's just me but I just can't get used to darker skinned people with Wood Wood Pecker colored hair.

Whatever happened to finding a color that COMPLIMENTED your skin tone instead of killed it. :blah:

I have a question?
Q: What jobs do you think these two women hold down with hair like that?

My imperfections are what mother nature created.

Blond hair mixed with Kool-aid is not an imperfection. It's a CHOICE. When we make choices (like wearing all black leather in a wedding, and buying 1 ct diamond bracelets for gifts) then we need to understand that those choices will be questioned and scrutinized.

The question "why do you care" was "why does REMI care".

You STILL ain't answered it but I do believe that folks in this thread have said why they care.

Apples and Oranges dude.

You can put your "hood id" card back in yo pocket now. We see it. LOL

Fact is my sister is the biggest hood rat on earth and not only did she show up at my brother's wedding with burgundy hair piled almost a foot high. But she also was wearing a leopard print mini-skirt and purple fuzzy (guess it was fur) blouse. With short red go - go boots.

I seen it before...and it's still wack as hell. LOLOLOLOL :p :p :p

But I still love her lil ghetto ass. LOL :p

Let me say that this was taken only after I saw far more "creative" modes of hair and attire. I understand those that want to make a bold statement and choose to on occasion to draw attention to themselves. But that's different from that truly believe this is their best look, the most classy presentation they can make. There were SuperFly suits of every color of the rainbow, Patti Labelle outfits ( lady marmalade days) Truth be told, I was in a full suit and was hot as hell... by the time we took pics at the end, i had my tie and jacket off.
