Fam, last week I started a lil routine that I hope to stick with and that is FREE. I walk 1 mile a day or at least try to. I am also trying to eat a lil healthier and am taking a diet suppliment called Metabolife.

It's almost been 1 week and I have more energy than I did last week. I tried on some old pants today and they seem looser to me. Hmm, am I psyched out? Is this shyt working?

LOL

Has anyone tried this combo before? Did it work for you? My goal is to drop about 15-20lbs over the next 12 months, but I know that I cannot do a gym membership. Do you think that this might work?

Your thoughts??

EVERY little bit counts!

you will lose weight...but be prepared for that wall that you will eventually hit.

i know it will work for you. walking is probably thE best exercise.... a total workout.
be sure to drink enough water everyday.. that alone could shed a few pounds if you are not already doing it (drinking water)...

good luck.... you can do it!!! :)

some people think when you get down to that last 10 pounds you want to lose that it can be the hardest... i say just go for it... if you are doing your body right it's gonna listen...

but maybe ice was refering to something else....

well...

if your intent is to increase your fitness level....

this is great.

if your intent is to lose a lot of weight....

you will lose a good amount...THEN you will hit a wall and you will stop loosing....

unless you increase or decrease SOMETHING.....

increase workouts...or decrease eating.

Good For You Honey!

I have been saying all summer that I am going to start walking and I haven't. I get home from work everyday and lay on the couch, watching Oprah and then fall asleep until my son calls me to pick him up from band practice.

I gotta get back into working out. My gym closed and I said I was going to go to the recreation center but haven't. The gym has reopened, but I refuse to pay for another gym membership.

The weather is a little cooler, so I am going to try to get back out there and walk. I have been eating better, and I lost 2 pounds this week, but I also need the exercise.

Remember, drink plenty of water. That also helps in weight loss.

I am taking Trimspa right now. Metabolife used to make me nervous and jumpy. Felt like my skin was crawling. I haven't tried it since they stopped using Ephedra.

Juicey1, you know I had more excuses than a few: Too Hot outside, I got too much work to do, I'm tired when I get home, etc.

Thanks for the love and I know you can do it...if i can. I really dont care about the pounds. I just wanna be fit. Get the ticker in shape. I'll be 40 in a few months and I guess that age has skurred me into exercise? LOL...well like Ice said, every lil bit helps.

Last time I joined somebodies gym, they made $$$ on me for not showing up...the checking account deduction was a mutha. So walking 1 mile a day, is FREE. The sidewalk will not charge me:).

surely u aint trippin over a few hundred.......

what the gym does is that it puts you in a group setting .....and ...

when u write that check...you feel like you HAVE to use what u r payin for.

Yep,...to se the deduction each month was like dayuuum I only was there 10 times?? Boo Hoo. Just excuses some use not to exercise and I was one of them. Group settings are cool, but not mandatory for me.

This sounds good on paper. But the whole gym system depends on most of us who pay for that stuff...and then never go.

Z, I feel ya...like NETFLIX.com. I know they hate my black ass. They send me 3 movies on Monday, I send all 3 back on Tuesday. This has been going on for 3-4 years now LOL.

I know they got my name on a list somewhere saying: How can this nigga watch 3 movies per day? Then they love the folks that will keep a DVD for a week before sending it back to get another.....their system of making money is NOT designed around a subscriber like ME!

...and when I get the $22 charge from them each month, I grin:D

Admin. Walking is a excellent thing to do. And as you said...it's free! I do the walk every once in a while, and I always feel better after doing it. What I found to be really good is to walk with friends at work too. Because we can push each other and then talk about crap etc.

I need to walk more because I am no spring chicken...:D

It's great to hear that you are making an effort. I've been walking a little recently, and taking a headphones so time will fly as I listen to The Wendy Williams Experience. One of the reasons I havent been working is my state of general physical health. 13 years at a desk job. Feels like my whole spine is as fragile as kindling wood. Like Chey said, the places were there are steps or stretches of walking were always measured out, and I would rather miss a departing bus or train before I'd have to run for it. My knees have been osteoarthritic for close to two years now, and I won't even start bitching about my lower back and ankles. I know the deal:

Long Term: I need to lose weight, a lot of weight. My longevity depends on it.
Short Term: I have to fight for my mobility. I can't give up what ability I have to basically get around. On a track or at the park walking paths where the distance is predetermined, you can chart your progress. I take the Gloucosamine supplements and with adequate water intake, it helps a lot. Some days are better than others, and on the worse days, it literally feels like I might fall on my face, but I know the only road out is to continue to strengthen my legs by demanding more of them. I'm out there walking with the senior citizens passing me, but that's okay, I'm out there. I'll be 46 in January. My short term goal is to see 50, be below 225 for a few years by then, and to see it on my feet.

Good luck in your quest, Admin. It is very true that breaking it down to the basics, the "free" ways to exercise, is just as effective, maybe more.

Thanks Dre and Chey I just got back from my walk. Had to change it to evenings due to new job started today and I was not in to mood for a 6am walk. LOL

Ya know what? I feel good. I went clothes shopping yesterday and really found out that I'm shrinking. LOL

Man it feels good. No joke, Dre and Chey it will work. I am not doing anything else but taking those pills and walking. My appetite is almost non-existent. I do not crave snacks and every time I pass a Mickey D's, I do not get the urge for a #4 with a coke. LOL

Yep, there are days when I do not feel like walking my mile at all, but after the first lap of 2 that I do, I am down to finish. I also mark off the day on a calendar so I can see my progress.

Well, I wish you all the best. Next time ya see me, I should be 5 pounds lighter in the ass. LOL

There was a high school football game at Overpeck Park in NJ and you can walk around the field on the exterior foot path, not the interior track and field track, and see the whole game! Of course I didn't walk for that long, but it certainly made time fly to have something to watch. Buy thos half liter water bottles, should be $5 for 24, or even 30 if you catch a good sale. Its so easy to grab one and down it in a minute.

The treadmill is working out? I always thought the mat wasnt wide enough for my stride. I'd have to buy two and put them flush side by side. Of course I'd break my neck! Durability is another thing. I'd be curious to know down the line how that is holding up.

ice-c

yet again...another excuse.

treadmills come in varying widths....

obviously the cheaper they are...the less power/incline/width.....

Admin

Dre, the durability is cool. I was nervous at first, but this was a $1,200.00 treadmill that was marked down to 50% off. It can get up to 10mph and the incline also goes to 10...something. Both the ife and I are on this mutha....so, if it's gonna KUNK out, it will be soon.

In the last month I've done 18 miles.!!!!

good stuff admin.

but don't sell yourself short. sooner or later you could be running a mile a day. considering that yoy have been at this for a month now i know you can run a mile or two, easily.

you just have to do it. and once you do it the first time you will never have to look back as long as you keep it up.

great work, admin!
