On point Hula! On point.... We had too much fun last night. A lot is still TBA, but I expected that due to this is so early. I think what is more evident is that we are showing a dedicated commitment to the HN6 goers that they will be well planned for and taken care of by the Cali crew from the GATE!

Airports: Dulce and I are willing and able to pick up folks from Sacto Airport and Hula said that she is willing to pick up from OAK. To me, SACTO Airport is closer and might actually be cheaper...check the rates.

Fairfield was decided due to it's the midway point (less driving) and with Hushlive being held at my crib on Saturday....folks will not have far to go to get there :-).

curious?

why all of a sudden is PLANNING so crucial?

curious?

why all of a sudden is PLANNING so crucial?

Ice.......It's really not. LOL, but the Cali crew seldom meets at all. I and others, thought that since we will be hosting HN6, that this would be a great EXCUSE to see eachother like every 3 months.

If folks can't seem to take time out for a true "Hush Regional", then the hosting/planing of HN6 might do the tirck? Just Thoughts.

This one went very well. I'm hoping to meet (in person) at least 3 more times before next summer.

As far as the planning goes? LOL, we know that things always change at a Hushnic, so no one is holding these plans to the letter.

It was good to: see, laugh, hug each other for the few hours that we had on Saturday.:D Dulce was the gracious host and Chey and Hula got to visit my crib and get the "Hush Crib" tour??? OMD! LOL

We had not done that in a while...bonding with the Cali Crew and catching up on eachother's lives.

The one thing that I wanted to get out of the way and set in stone was what city HN6 goers would rest in. That was done and I'm happy to announce Fairfield as that city. It's a logical choice giving all the driving that will be done.....and the crew agreed. (yep, even that might change...I know).

correction: hula said SFO

there's enough folks in oakland that can cover oakland if they volunteer. however, if there is no 'cali airport meeting' shuttle guide/pick up for oakland, then, we'll have maps avail or have to do it ROAD RULES style where we pick up contestants along the way :D

i can't wait until the next regional! let's play city ping pong and do oakland, then fairfield, then san francisco, then vallejo, then el cerrito (MACARONI GRILL!!!!!!!!!)

lol... i love looking forward to get togethers :hearts:

The Plans:

Thursday - Meet and Greet @ 6pm in Fairfield (restaurant TBA)

Isn't Scandia out there? MInature Golf maybe fun with the group, even if I had to sponsor a few. We should establish a hospitallity suite, where we pitch in on alcohol for everyone, and drinks can be mad there to save money. I don't mind Bartending since I dont really drink anymore.

If a few folks wanna come in early, this could be the skripper night and peeps can stay at the crib, but I dont know if the group wants to split up the 1st night.

Friday - Breakfast @ 9am in Suisun (restaurant TBA)
Ferry from Vallejo to San Francisco (all day; activities within SF TBA)
Lunch at peir 39, best clam chowder in the world. Cable cars to Union square and shops all over. Cold sometime on them boats so remember to dress warm in Cali.(sweaters and pullovers recommended)

Dinner in Oakland (restaurant TBA)

Everette and Jones dinner, turns into Q's on Friday, live band, but dont wear tennis shoes-GOod BBQ

Chicken and Waffles cool.

Jacks Bistro is aight, with a live band too sometimes.

Scotts, more ritzy but good seafood

Uno's Pizza Ria.....

Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream for after dinner.

Jack London Movies, if a good flick is out then.

But question, if we take the ferry from Vallejo, how will we get to Oakland Jack London Square area??? And do we go to the club this night, we might need to change our clothes?

Saturday - 1. On your own
Brief list of suggested activities:
a. Shopping @ Vacaville Outlets or
Eat breakfast here and gamble in morn. Cache Creek Resort & Spa CASINOor

c. Drive to Old Sacramento or
d. Drive into East Bay/San Francisco for museum or
e. Detailed list of free activities will be provided for you
when you arrive
f. See your hotel lobby for brochures
Peeps may wanna take a nap by now before the Hushnic.

2. Hush Live Barbeque - 3pm Where will this be?

Do we go to the club or lounge this day after this or does this last all night?

Sunday - "Never can say goodbye..." Departure (hotel lobby) How about a breakfast planned this day, and peeps make thier flights after say 12pm, hell yall will get hours back going home so you wont get back late.

Just a few thoughts while I had the time to think about it.

Rock on.

You get hours back. . .travelling WEST to EAST?

If your flight leaves @ 12 pm PST it's 3 pm EST ....... If you are lucky enough to score a non-stop flight you can arrive home by 7:30-8:00 but if you have a lay-over it can be 11 pm.

What would the HN6 PLANNING COMMITTEE estimate the cost of this 4 day/3 night weekend to be for out-of-towners?

AIRFARE + LODGING + TRANSPORTATION + FOOD + ACTIVITIES + POCKET CHANGE = $000.00 (or maybe even = $0000.00)

I vote to add Bright to the HN6 travel committee. :D

I'm content just to toss out some questions. . .mainly for the benefit of others.

I think that planning is all well and good....I've been in favor of it ever since I started putting in my two cents on Hushnic....but the fact remains that when you travel there are costs to take into consideration and people can plan their budgets prior to arriving at their destination.

When you talk about eating... some folks may be budgetting for Wendy's 99 cent menu while others are trying to go out and have a $30 meal.

It's only fair to put all the hidden costs out there that unseasoned travels don't think about like:

state sales tax
hotel/lodging taxes
rental car taxes
event costs (entrance fees, parking fees)
meal costs
gas prices
etc, etc

HulaSista

Hey Brite, excellent question and to come up with the anwser, i would have to go based on how much i've spent leaving my state to go to other states. I normally come home having had spent a nice $600 - $800 per trip INCLUDING food and shopping.

When we get ready to meet again, we can guess-ti-mate what it would cost for a person traveling alone and then those who want to share expenses will know they can save a few $$ by teaming up with other hush folks.

When we decide on what we are doing we will post it.

I know almost all the prices off my head right now, but folks gotta want to do it.

Bright you can come to the West if you want to help us plan, ya know ya got places to stay. Then you can find out prices with us :)
