At what point in your life did you suddenly realize that you were grown...and adult.

For me I was 20 and a Jr in college I had just gotten my drivers license (late I know) and moved off campus. I got in my new car and went and paid a bill that had my name on it and suddenly thought:

Damn...I am grown! LOL :D

What was it for you Fam?

When i got into MY car, that I paid cash for, and drove to MY job and then got off and when where the hell I wanted to (except I still have to call and say I'll be home later) then I felt grown.

The ultimate is once I had my daugther and at 19 I could look at my mom and almost feel equal to her since I was a mom too :D

When I started my first "real " job at the age of 19. Even though I had a 2 1/2 yr old son, I didn't feel grown until then.

At 16 when I had that baby, my mom reminded me that just because I had given birth, didn't mean I was grown.:(

I was 17 also and headed to college to do my own thing. . .I'd been doing my own thing already but at this point, I didn't have to hear anybody's mouth about it.

I was damn near 30 when I finally felt like I was grown . . . late 20's~!!

That's when I called myself moving out . . . and in with my (then future) baby's daddy~!!

I mean, I knew I was grown all along . . .

I graduated High School
I went to college, but did not stay on campus
I bought a new car
I had been working since I was 11
I paid my own bills

. . . but moving out of Mom & Pop's house was a really big step for me~!!

Then, I gave birth to my daughter at the ripe age of 29~!! :hearts:

I've been grown ever since~!! :D

...when I got my first apartment, and the fact that I had got a job right after graduation, so there was no layover at home catching heat from Pops.... I spent the summer bargain hunting garage sales for all my furniture... those were the days.
That was Summer of 1981:p

I was 16 and on my way to college. I was rooming with a friend from high school, and thought I'll be a college freshman at 16. (My bday is in late Aug, when school's already started.)

Hell yeah I was grown!

i realized that it was up to me...to make it.

this reminds me of when i was 16... i got my first job... and my parents told me they were no longer providing for me. that everything i need whether it is clothes or school supplies or payment for school functions that i am on my own since i can work.

my feelings were so hurt and my heart was broken because when it came to my 2 older step sisters and my younger 1/2 sister, they did EVERYTHING for them.

But I had to do it on my own... didn't realize it, but, I was being treated as if I was grown then.
