If you were to throw a party, what would be the occassion if any? What would you serve? Would there be a limit as to the number of folks u would invite?

I throw parties anytime - holiday, birthday, the sun is shinin' and the grill is hot...menu varies depending on what I feel like cooking (BBQ, gumbo, lasagna, pasta, dim sum) & folks always bring more food and drink..and sometimes "brownies". I invite as many heads as will fit in my spot and it's on! :beer

Never liked Birthday parties, I have always been scared noone would come.
However sometimes the weather just calls for a party. My favorite are BBQs. Ribs (Pork and Beef), Chicken, Steak, Burgers, Bratwurst and Hotdogs.
Spaghetti, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Taco Salad, Macaroni Salad and any other darn salad. Cakes, Pies Cookies, Chips. Anything else people bring, I do take food donations.
Pop, Beer, lemonade and of course RED KOOL-AID

I'm seriously considering giving myself a birthday party. I would invite everyone I know cus some folks are not gonna show and that way you have a better chance of having a good crowd.
The last birthday party I threw the place was PACKED and I didn't even know some of the people cus a friend of a friend of a friend invited them. lol :p But it was all good.
I'd serve light hor'doerves punch and maybe a lil alcohol but not alot.

I don't need a reason to have a party or just a lil get together. I invite our close friends and if they want to bring someone, so be it.
Cooking just depends on what I feel like doing. It could be just finger foods with a salad like hot wings, lil smokies in barbeque sauce or meatballs in barbeque sauce.
Or if I am really in a cooking mood, collard greens, mac & cheese, baked beans, potato salad, then put some chicken, brauts, hot dogs, burgers, steaks, pork chops, etc on the grill.
Hmmmm, I might have to tell hubby its time for a get together.:beer

I'm always throwing parties. I am having a "Toys" (yeah, those kind of toys) party in November. I'm inviting just about every woman that I know, they can bring their partner if they wish, but the majority will be woman. Girls night in.
The menu? finger sandwhiches and cold salads first and fruit. Then, pasta (not sure if tortellini or linguine) with sun-dried tomato alfredo sauce. Desert: Tiramisu.
The number of people will not be small b/c the woman that is hosting is my s/o's brother's girlfriend, and I want her to get paid.
So, we're gonna fill our bellies, then go home and work off the caleries with our new toys.
