Lamont Bentley (Hakeem from Moesha) will really get a chance to flex his muscle in the role of Tupac Shakur, in the upcoming VH-1 movie, Too Legit To Quit: The MC Hammer Story. “Now, that’s going to take me to a whole other level,” Bentley says of the role, in which he transformed himself into the likeness of the late rap icon. “I just really want his mother and his family to see how much justice I did to this role. I want to see what they think of it. I hope they approve.”
Bentley tells The Ru Report that in order to master the role of Shakur, he studied the late rap icon’s movies and TV appearances. He says his eyebrows were thickened and his head was shaved. “A lot of people don’t realize the connection that Tupac and Hammer had,” he confides. “This movie will let them know of that connection.” Too Legit… is scheduled to air on December 14th.
