Why can't layaways be longer than 30 days...and shouldn't they give you atleast a 5 day grace period?
Are u a layaway person?

i don't believe in layaways at all...never have...my mom always told me to save for one big item and pay for it in cash...
i mean, what's the difference between saving the money yourself and giving it to someone else + interest?
answer: a large fee...

Interest on layaways, never heard of that.....as for layaway fee's, not to many of them have that here, especially not around holiday time.

I like doing it at Christmas time....keeps the kid from driving me crazy for months because the presents aren't sitting there. I like waiting until the last minute, picking them up, and wrapping them. That way, I am not being tortured by the little one begging to open them up in october! lol

At Walmart, where I get my kids toys, Christmas layaway starts in October. So it is a convenient way to purchase them, but keep them out of the house until close to Christmas.

Yes I am a layaway person.. Especially around Christmas.. Layaway is not about letting someone hold your money and I've never heard about interest on layaway.. It's about the store holding items for you and you paying for them little at a time.. Kinda like credit but you don't get to take the items home until after you finish paying for them :p
I actually picked up some jeans for my boys today that I had put on layaway.. The cashier then took another $6 off what I owed cause she said that the items had went on sale while they were on layaway..Which was cool with me!! :D
The after thanksgiving day sales are another good time to do layaways.. You can get some good deals even if you don't have enough money to get it at that time cause layaway is only 10% of your total!! The only bad thing will be the long lines.. Especially at Walmart!

I don't do layaways. . . never have. . . but I don't knock anyone that does~!! :) I just have a bad habit of charging all the time when I shop. . . and then come up short when it's time to pay the bill~!!  :D

My child's birthday is right after Christmas...thank God for layaway! If there were presents in this house on Christmas that she couldn't open, she would lose her mind!

I use lay a way to make sure the item I want in case the stock runs out around christmas. No interest here either on lay-a-way. That way I can pay gradually with charging anything but still be able to buy what I want and not picked over stuff.,

Never used lay a way... I can barely remember stuff that's in the cleaners.

I have a layaway now at TJ Maxx. Found about five pair of jeans and some tops for my son and about three pair of nylon athletic pants for my daughter. Everything came to over 200.00, so I put it in the layaway. Its clothes for Christmas presents.

I don't believe I have used layaway in some years. . .I do recall though that we had quite a few places that did 45-90 day layaways. . .I mainly did birthday/Christmas for my daughter. There's a toy store here that you could do your Christmas layaway as early as January and hold it until Dec. 20 or something like that.
But the all-time silliest thing I heard is you could even layaway furniture for doggone near a year, had a girlfriend do that maybe 4 years ago. She said they told her as long as you pay at least $1 a week they will hold it til it's paid off, no fee, etc. . . .I'm thinking in my head I live in a "country-azz" state that will do some stuff like that. . . Would you even remember what your furniture looked like after all that time?

Yeah, I do layaway....especially when I'm buying for an upcoming season. You don't need the items yet...so layaway is the answer.

I have a layaway in now at TJ Maxx. I saw some shoes, purse and two pair of jeans I wanted, but didn't have the money on me at the time to get it, so I put it in layaway. They are due out on the 20th.
