About a month ago; I was at a function at my daughters school and there was this group there called cyberstudy101. Well according to them there was a grant program to give students free computers signed off on by Bush. Well of course I don't believe in ANYTHING For free so at first I walked away, but I then ran into the principal who steered me back over there saying that she was glad I showed up and that the deadline was the next day and that she was calling her top students to make sure they took advantage of the opportunity. So I went over and filled out the paperwork and she signed off on it and the 'catch' was that my daughter had to attend this tutorial progam one Saturday.
Well it slipped my mind because I was still skeptical until this part Thursday when they called to set up her appt. So we went over there Saturday and she participated in this online tutorial program which actually was pretty cool. Just like that after filling out some paperwork saying that she would log in and do 2 hours a month on the program (which is internet based) and that we would get DSL or Cable internet (which we already have). We'll be getting a VERY NICE I might add computer in 2 weeks! We go pick it up. The only thing it needs is a printer and I have two so she can have one of those. It's already loaded with alot of school related stuff and set up for the DSL - so I'll call Comcast to have them come hook it up in her room (she has a cable line so that should't be difficult) and it's ON!
