I searched posts way back to see if anyone talked about this while it was in the movies. It's in rental now, and when we watched it, I was completely blown away!

If you consider yourself a movie buff in any sense of the word, you have to see this! It stars the dude that played the straight and narrow cop in "L.A. Confidential" ( I am to lazy to go to IMDB.com to look for details.) He plays a man that has lost his short term memory, and the movie's genius is that it does not let you know anymore than he knows as the film progresses. Let me warn you...you can't watch this with kids, or that irritating friend that has no serious interest in movies that dont slap you in the face with the plot. This is something that will seriously test your patience and the way you percieve a story. I was more than halfway through it and still couldnt be half sure what the hell was going on....but at the same time, I was fascinated at how it wouldn't let me relax and know it all, like most movies do. You were right there, as confused as the star, not knowing who to trust. I have to buy it and watch it again, its a definite keeper in my collection. Excellent supporting cast...

But I'm serious...lock the door, take the phone off the hook, and keep the remote handy...you might need to go back over a few minutes in places. But it's best not to, I only did it two or three times...it was driving me nuts! and I loved every moment. Forget about asking questions of any body... the whole point is that you are confused. It must be what it is really like to not be able to make "new memories". You literally can't look away from the screen or you'll miss something important. This is what makes movies exciting. Tell me how you like it...

yuk! i hated it...it was broken up for the "deep" effect, which just made it come off corny...we've analyzed it so many times in my classes...now, if you want a great film to see, watch "amorres perros"...i guarantee you that you will be thanking me extensively for the recommmendation...

it's hard to explain...the only way i can explain is to tell you how the movies "goes"...about "an hour in the day of" this cat is shown, then it jumps to, like, BEFORE that "hour" and goes up to that hour...then, it may go BEFORE that hour before the first...this is because our protagonist has very short-term memory and has all these tatoos on his body to remind him of things and he has notes on polaroids, too...but we don't know if the guy is who he says he is or is being used by someone to get something for them...

Are you describing the movie you like, or the movie "Memento", that I was talking about? The man with no short term memory, the tattoos on his body.... that is "Memento". Whether it was taken from another movie, I don't know.

You will love or hate Memento, but you have to admit it is not a boring watch.
