...you know, the first week maybe of ab work...your muscles are sore, and in particular my lower back hurts because it hasn't been worked like that, but that comes with the territory as well...the pain dissipates, but i'm such a punk right now, i don't even want to go through it again...HELP!!! :D

When I started taking belly dancing lessons, my abs hurt for about a week solid! Talk about pain!!! Especially the obliques...ouch! I started going to the gym and boiling in the hot tub every morning before work, then started doing some extensive stretching after class. That helped alot. Now it hardly bothers me at all!

It is the most fun I have ever had in my life!!!!! It is such good exercise, and it does wonders for the self esteem.....before I started losing weight, I didn't feel feminine....now, I feel all woman! It is a celebration of womanhood, it is impossible to not feel beautiful and sexy when you are dancing.

Well, I usually just think to myself that it's only 5 minutes.

It only takes about 5 minutes to work your abs. 10 minutes max. I can do just about anything for 5 minutes.

Also, keep in mind that your diet will determine when your abs show through. You can do all the situps and crunches and knee raises in the world, if you eat a lot of foods that are high in sugars or fats, your abs won't show through.

So, I just think about the feeling of having nice abs, remembering how it felt to wear certain shirts, and looking in the mirror, etc.

remember...5 MINUTES!

1) MONITOR YOUR DIET!!! Once again, if you eat poorly, you won't get any results.

2) Perform the following sample exercises:

1) Crunches: 3 sets of 25

2) Oblique Crunches (3 sets of 15)

3) Knee Raises 3 sets of 15 (either on side of bench or hanging knee raises if you wanna really push yourself)

4) Clams 3 sets of 15 (bringing your knees and elbows as close together as possible).

That's about 210 reps total. Should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes. Do this about 3 times a week.
