I've had so much taken off of my credit just by disputes it ain't even funny. I still have a couple of things I need to dispute but I'm 3/4 ready to go see the mortgage broker and have upped my scores over 40 points.
So yes go see what's on your credit!

Dispute the shyt....but I will tell you not to wait to log to buy a crib...even 6 months can matter alot according to what the housing market look like in your area.
Wiating 6 months to save $100 per mont on a mortgage can cost your like $50,000 in the total cost of the house...saying that in 6 months the house you are now looking at was $50,000 less six months ago while you were worried about a low fico score....so you now have what you deem as a good fico score, but now the loan you need is $50,000 more...so the bank wins!
Just sumthin' to think about. (based on Cali home prices)

You're correct ADMIN. I'm intending to spend no more than $1200 to get into a home out of pocket. I just wanted to keep the score up above XYZ for a month or so and I'm going in March. They have so many programs for someone like me - they wait on someone like me, lol I'm rocking the entire Single, Female, African American, Widow, SSI getting angle all the way!!!!
Housing prices are still pretty stable down here but it could turn on a dime. I know what I can afford and I've worked the numbers in the countless counters to see what kinda mortgage would be best for me. I'm going to someone who has gotten some people some good numbers worked out (a mortgage broker) and as soon as these last things roll off (I hate the credit bureaus if my ass was late it would be reported seemingly immediately but for them to update the shit is taking FOREVER! I have my letters though so I might jump the gun and go in anyway, lol)
I am excited but tired of sitting at the starting gate, lol
Oh I joined teamcredit.com I got all three of my reports, all three credit scores and the alert system so that I'll know if something rolls on/off/changes any inquiries made etc. I want to keep up with it because I know they run your credit twice, once to get the mortgage and once right before closing to see if you've fucked up by doing something silly like buying $3500 worth of furniture from Rooms to Go on the pay in 2006 not knowing it shows up on your credit and throws your debt/income ratio off or you pay the damn carnote late and it can make them not give you the loan.

Each report will come with a number. You can go to the websites and plug in this confirmation number and dispute on line or you can call the 800 number and dispute any addresses etc. (sometimes if you get them to take off an old address any debt associated with that address will disappear as well) OR you can write them a letter and they have 30 days to give you an answer. I will go find the sample letters and post the links here.
Don't explain anything to them dispute everything as NOT MINE!, lol

I never call, I write letters. I have a standard letter set up for all disputes, I just plug in the stuff I need to dispute and mail it off. i also request in my letter for them to send me another report after the dispute to show that they have taken it off...this is FREE!

I bought a book for like $14 bucks that has all of them in there.
Just go to your local Barnes and Noble (or any book chain) and ask for books by a Black Author named: Bob Hammond..
Dude is tight! Bob ill have all of the letters you need in the book. Mine have been tweaked and formated for my personal issues, you will see were you will have to tweak yours to get the same results.
