I'd be interested in hearing the results.
They're running a commercial that states that while drugs like Ritalin are making it easier for teachers and schools to deal with children who suffer from ADD/ADHD. . .there is interest in finding out the long-term effects in such areas as: sleep patterns, hormone levels and growth/development.
Ya'll know I'm always looking for the smoking gun or waiting for the other shoe to drop. . .and this is my take. . . .
I've come to believe that the school system is in "cahoots" with the healthcare business (.. . not industry. . .but BUSINESS) and the pharmaceutical companies.
If you examine you can see the intricate "back scratching" that goes on amongst such unions. . .doctors are encouraged to prescribe drugs and treat symptoms not the illnesses and lately. . .it seems like the school systems are in on the action by trying to diagnose kids with behavioral or chemical imbalances and "recommending" kids be put on drugs. In some cases, threatening to refuse to allow students back in school without them.
Ya'll can laugh if you want but I'm sure we will see a segment about this on 60 minutes or 20/20. . .if it already hasn't been.
Mark my words, people. . . .mark my words.
