View Full Version : Do you have a financial plan???
I've read a few post about folks being a little strapped, everyone hits those points in life at one time or another. That's today and there an't much you can do about today, but what about the future. Do you plan to do anything about it or are you going to be passive and let the chips fall where they may?
Here's a start....
Do you have a 401K?
Do you have a pension?
Do you have decent credit, over draft protection, credit cards unsecured/secured.
Do you have some dollars on the side? Not a whole lot, but something (anuff to get your ass to moms house)?
Last but not least, do you hold/buy US Savings bonds?

yup sure do, I have always said I wanted to start preparing financially for my future...I had procrastinated before, but since working for a bank, I have since kicked into high gear with getting my finances in order..
I have a CD
Just opened an IRA
I have socked away a nice amount of spare change:cool: from my monthly bonuses..
First of the year I will be enrolling a 401K
I think the main reason we as folks of color don't really prepare for the future is because of lack of knowledge and understanding..at least I can say that was partly my reason...

i am over here crying....
i just got my 401k report.....it was an UGLY UGLY sight!
all in all...i guess it could have been worse.....
My shit looks bad too, but its only paper until you take your money out. I'm going to start diverting some of my flow into the fixed income market...say about 10%-15% over the next year or two. I'll leave the balance in the equity markets...mind you it's all 401k loot...I still got time to take on some risk.

My credit sucks... But I am putting money away... My 401K looks awful also.. But I was going to get a few savings bonds maybe this month.
