Why the hell is this game still so expensive and the games as well?! DAYUM! I been waiting forever for it to go down and as of yet NOPE. My daughter wants one and I figured that I'd go ahead and break down and get one because it would kill two birds with one stone and get her a DVD player at the same time. She wants that American Idol game and some dancing game. (I have not been a big proponent of them because they never have enough girl or non violent games), but I figured they are expanding and she likes pacman and stuff so I could get her a few games.

I'm making my way TO THE PAWN SHOP!!!

Well, well, well....

Look, eventhough the PS2 is still expensive, it is the BEST videogame deal you can get.

TONS of excellent cheap games out there!

Of course, there are not many girly girl games out there, because the market is mostly a male dominated market.

The American Idol game is on clearance at TARGET!!!! I have seen that game for around or under 20 bucks!

There are great games that you can get cheap...like:

Final Fantasy (Role Playing)...
Puzzle games
Action platformer games..
And there are more and more games with Major Female characters.

One of my "Must have" games out there is called: "Beyond Good and Evil"...which is an excellent game!

Also, if you want to choose a system that does not cater as much to the ultra violent games...get the GAMECUBE by Nintendo.

The GC is 100 bucks brand new...but it does not play DVDs.

But who cares? You can get a DVD player that will do more than the PS2 DVD player for under 50 bucks.

But other than that...go ahead get that damn Playstation 2 preowned for between 150 and 170 dollars.

There are lots of cute games out there for your girl....

and you. :D

Feel free to discuss video games here...I will be all over it! Apparently, people here are not into video games/computer games...

But I am! :D

Well I, for one LOVE video games. I love the Grand Theft Auto 3 type games, the football games, and some of the fighting games. I also dig the RPGs. And the WWE: SMACKDOWN Games are the shizzle!

As for the PS2, it's funny you mention this, I am looking for one right now. I think I might buy one off of ebay. I've seen a few for like 100 or 120, but I'm still leaning to buying a new one.

Gots to have a PS2 these days.

That's right Dns!

The PS2, dollar for dollar, is the best entertainment deal out there!

Now I have all of the major game systems, but you will find waaay more games on the PS2.

And you can still play PS1 games on it too.

Ya can't go wrong with the PS2.

(and GTA is da bomb!...as well as Soul Calibur) :D

I am glad that we have some Game fans up in heah!!!

I heard a rumor that Dulce likes video games too! :D

I got Noodle a PS1 a couple of years ago, and have great games that she loves....smackdown for her rough days and spice girls for her girly days. 50 bucks all day long at the wal~mart! I just could not bring myself to spend 200 dollars.

There is a lovely store that sells pre owned PS1 games and I can get a ton of them for little or nothing, so thats the route I'm going for now.

and the night i heard it, comedy central did a woman night out marathon and one of the comedienes said she was big PS2 head. and she mentioned that the more violent the game, the better. of course, her one testimony doesn't drive home the stat, but i found it interesting coupled with the earlier news.

Yes! There is a Prince of Persia promotion! Buy Prince of Persia (I heard that it is a great game) and you will get Splinter Cell for free. Nice deal!

Yeah. Get the game and play it...so that you can give your son pointers when he gets off of punishment...:D

Some games can be played online. For the PS2, you will need the boadband adapter. Some games are free to play on line.

I heard that Socom is a pretty good game to play online (I do not have the PS2 online adaptor yet...)

LOL! No Olsen twins games yet....I try to hide them from noodle because she loves the girly games as much as the violent ones. I just don't think I could take those two!!! Spiceworld is bad enough!

Well seeing as Hollywood and Blockbuster do the five day game rental. I'll be utilizing that moreso than anything else. We have places here that resell games and have 'packages' with the module etc. etc. The names are escaping me. I will be checking them out as well.

Damn where are Ninento 64's when you need them, a good game of Donkey Kong never hurt nobody, lol lollol

Dang I used to love:

Donkey Kong
Centipede
Dig Dug

i hear this alot from various folks. i usually respond with how much money did you blow at the bar/club (or something like that) last weekend. a 10 dollar long island cost too much to me. and i don't even drink. videogames are just another source of entertainment.

two weekends at the bar might literally buy you a playstation 2 (179), extra controller (15), two games (40-100) and a network adapter (35).

this post is not necessarily directed at you ST.

Good points Gammite! Shoot, I had lunch the other day...and it cost me over 80 bucks! I was thinking...

Geesh...I could have either paid half of my electric bill...or purchased a "Eye Toy" with that money! (Ps2 webcam that allows you to literally interact with the Eye Toy games....it's awesome!)

however, my son brought his PS2 down with him last summer. some kiddie games. he was whoopin' my ass. i couldn't figure out shyt like R2 and L1, and all the combo shyt. i tried to get into rainbow 6 in the service, same thing.

There are some really cool games out there...some games have mature themes...like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Alright for your Neighborhood Pawn Shop!!! I went in there and after wading thru the Glocks and Sawed Off Shotguns - I got to the counter and inquired about a Playstation 2 - well apparently someone had defaulted on theirs JUST THIS MORNING! So it was fair game!!!

I ended up getting what I considered a pretty good deal because I also was looking for a camcorder and so I got:

the Playstation 2 module
Final Fantasy Number something or the other
two controllers

AND

A Quasar VHSC Palmcorder (yea it ain't cutting edge but me and my mom have been trading the tapes to slide in that VCR tape adapter for years now. It works)

for: $160 bucks!!

But THEN I went to Best Buy and bought the following:

Memory Card
The Simpsons Road Rage
Loony Tunes back in action

That shit costs $60 and some change.

I still think I came out cool though because I basically got charged $80 for the Playstation and then to spend the extra $60 so she is starting out with a nice little beginners kit for what would have JUST been the Playstation 2

She has about 4 Playstation games from the old system so I think she's straight.

Ok, I did see that kit to turn your Playstation into a Karoke Machine :D That will probably be next, lol lol I like that and she and I love to sing, lol

I tell yah those games are EXPENSIVE!

by the way - how much was the person given for the Playstation on pawn? $35 bucks!

I'll proably be getting one very soon...

Hmmm maybe I'll pick it up. Under the Target thread last week I spoke about all the games I got for Sakinah - I really am not trying to buy her anything else right now. Maybe I'll pick it up and will give it to her after next report card time. It seems kinda cool from the website.
