what are your plans?

******************************************

i am facing reality that i won't be able to take the trips i planned this year because of the new job ; they are requiring a major commitment from me that will last well into 2005; any trips i take will be fri - sun morn and rushed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate those...

i only have 2 planned and they are for the same destination... one kicks off in january... another in july... then THAT'S IT... i'm strapped and must accrue and carry over as much vacation time for 2005 for 2 week trip with the family to virginia and disney world that is gonna cost a lot of money but well worth the wait/effort!!!!!!!!!

I have 35 vacation days for 2004 and the desire to purchase a house. I was planning to do the cruise thing with my daughter. I had told myself that every year I would take a vacation with her now that she is 10 and we started with Disney last year and were suppose to do the Disney cruise this year - but I already explained to her that the House IS the vacation. Especially since I'm trying to buy in the summer.

Otherwise I might team up with another mom and we go down to Destin and 'pretend' we are at the Bahamas beach, lol

Going to see my momma and what not and my youngest brother graduate HS

In terms of a great leisure trip for myself - don't have one planned. Well the one if I win the lottery but that doesn't count.

I'll be hanging with the missus around the equator on our 7 day Caribbean cruise to kick off the New Year. Lots of fresh sea air, sunshine de-stressing from Job drama. Look forward to the adventure, and I want to get off on the right foot, so I will not be making them regret the words "all you can eat". However, wifey is another story, she is going to think she's in the making of Jaws 4. :D sorry, TMI again, but hey, its like that, and that's the way it is...

I'm starting the year off with an 8-day Caribbean cruise next week.

This is the tentative work up:

February -- undecided (DC or NC)
March -- ATL one or twice
April -- undecided (DC or NYC)
May -- undecided
July -- NOLA for the Essence Festival or Miami
August -- maybe Hushnic if it ever gets ironed out
September -- undecided
October -- college homecoming KY (not really a vacation but it's a getaway)
November -- undecided

I'll also be travelling with my job so some of these days will have to be flexible.

I wanna hear all about it when you get back... I went to epinions.com to get reviews on this Celebrity cruise ships line, and it narrowed down the same route and all, had a lot of tips, like bring your own liquor. They get you out there and then charge for all drinks! They have a mini bar in the room but you know that's priced to the moon. They try to discourage BYOB but people do it anyway, just don't flaunt it. I am stockpiling magazines and bubblegum, something I found very valuable in Jamaica. Maybe one of those PUR water filter things for the faucet, cause I know spring water is a bitch too. Damn, I better get packing!

You know. . .I was wondering did I need to get "creative" on the smuggling drink tip. . . use a shampoo bottle, etc. Then I got to thinking. . .I seriously doubt they are gonna confiscate like they claim they do if you buy drinks while in port.

After I got this literature and read that we are charged $80 in gratuities right off the bat but that we can increase/decrease it. . .I was like "Oh sheeetttttttttttttt" you can best believe I am lowering that one to something reasonable and more realistic. . . .that's when I was wondering how much they were gonna try to hit a sista up for on the drink tip.

I was thinking about buying those drink coupons (4 for $20) and send them to myself as a gift. . .I was figuring they will be cheaper than buying on the ship. ..
