Ok...who's gonna admit to opening their mailbox ... and mail... a littel bit differently......

my mailbox gets opened once a week.. Every Tuesday... Unless I'm expecting something then I would check it a couple more days.. :rolleyes: :p

Bills don't get open until I feel like it.. Usually when I'm ready to pay it..

I never open or check my mail on Friday or Saturday.. Don't want to ruin my weekends... :evil:

I generally check mine about every 10 days...sad i know.

I know this much...if i see anything come from Florida...trash it goes....

I haven't done anything differently. As a matter of fact I had not seen any news since Friday until today so I was mostly unaware of the newer Anthrax cases.

Basically I didn't let the unibomber change my mailing habits and this won't either.

I will admit that I am more eerie. I have a PO Box also. Today I had a little yellow slip in there telling me to pick up a package that was too large to fit in the box. When the clerk came back with it and tried to hand it to me, I said, "Could you please place it on the counter so I can take a look at it for myself?" They laughed it off as if I was crazy, but you never know. Turned out to be a care package for the girls, but still. One can't be too careful these days.

with somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 anthrax cases nationwide......i would suggest that you all be a little careful when opening your mail. tastey...the unabomber was a single person...that had to send packages...these are just letters with powder in them....

Right now Que you don't know if this is a single person or not. u really know less than was known about the unabomber.

Not to mention that a bomb blowing up is instant death. From what I understand every found case has been treated and will be fine.

But just to satisfy you the next package I get with powder, I'll be sure to call someone, other than that...it's business as usual.

and now 12 cases....throw that in with a terrorist bombing....and i'm convinced. makes no diff it is 1 person or a network of people.

Tastey, i think Que is saving, wouldn't you be a lil more careful now of things....I mean when the guy here thought it was a bomb under his car half the city including myself, was checking there car the next day.

Letters are popping up rather quickly now and right now it seems to be just hitting news people or people in office.....

No one is saying anyone should live in fear but one should be cautious right now.....

Hell the President himself warned us to be careful a few days ago since the FBI was certain of another attack...well the attack is here...ANTHRAX...and i believe it's just beginning....

Not me.

I'm not saying there is no threat. However the chances of me getting a hate letter from a terrorist are several thousand to one.

This reminds me of when AIDS first hit the scene. People were telling everyone to be xtra cautious, rather than waiting for the facts and examing the real risks to them.

I live less than 60 miles from a nuclear power plant. The possibility of a terrorist attack there concerns me a hell of a lot more than Anthrax. I'm not in a high risk job or category.

So I'm not altering my mail habits. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

i open my mailbox a lil differently...because i am takin my own precautions. i don't have anybody really screening my mail for me...but me.

i think though...to call the terrorists geniuses...is a stretch. they had a plan...they were patient...they methodically put the pieces together....and they carried it out. let's not give them the genius title for our own lack of preparedness...our own feeling of invincibility.

I said 4 or 5 posts ago that I would be careful, that if I found a powdery substance in my mail I would contact someone then you come back with "do you get new in SC" . WTF? is that about?

Do you get the news in DC? :rolleyes: I have seen the news, I have read the reports, I probably know more about this whole situation than you do because I have taken the time to research it , and from my viewpoint the chances are thousands to 1 that a letter will be in MY mailbox. So I choose not to change my habits.

I have asked no one to not change theirs, I have not said that this is not a real threat, I simply answered the thread just like everybody else did. I gave Tastey's opinion. That's all.

I will be a little more careful. I don't think that an average person is very likely to receive an "anthrax" letter or a mail bomb but it is possible. Better to be safe than sorry!

First of all I never said it was no worse than the unibomber. I simply said that didn't change me and this wouldn't. I never said which was worse. That was your assumption. A WRONG assumption I might add.

The whole anthrax situation is out of hand. Everybody who sees a white powder is calling the EPA. This has nothing to do with terrorism at all. Crazy ass white people trying to get at people under the cover of Bin Laden. I totally disagree with the bombings. Bin Laden is chilling somewhere else & got the world shook.

When you pray...listen. God's answer may lead you to a cure. May lead you to a good doctor. It may lead you to alot of things. That's a very elementary answer that you'd give a child or a babe in Christ.

The WTC and the mailing are seperate issues. I never said they were not average. I compared the unibomber (mail) and the Anthrax (mail) how you got the WTC bombing out of that only you know. :rolleyes:

The GOOD target was the WTC. I never said anything about the people on the planes. From a terrorist standpoint it was a PERFECT target. That doesn't mean it wasn't tragic...just that it was well thought out by the executioner.

Being military you should know that when in a war you pick prime targets you don't just aim randomly. They could have blown up the largest building in SC and not killed 1/2 as many people nor caused 1/2 the financial, and emotional damage. That made it a GOOD terrorist target from a terrorist standpoint. It's a tragedy for America but from thier point of view it was sheer genius.

The anthrax scare is very effective. It's made you with your headache argue with me all day when you declared this morning you were not going to. I never said it wasn't effective.

I simply stated that the mastermind who thought of bombing the WTC would surely think to send Anthrax to George Dubya. It makes logical sense. Not that it should be done. But that it's a logical wartime move.

See with my logic. Que doesn't understand so rather than ask me to clarify what I think...he makes it up in his own mind and it doesn't make sense because we don't think alike. :eek:

I don't know if I would get in an uproar about this anymore than I would about the outbreaks of West Nile Virus & Ebola. . .those things had somewhere in the same percentage of reported cases being almost non-existence and then an upward surge. I tried to get exact stats but couldn't come across them readily.

I think this is basically one of those copycat or diversionary tactics used by Bin-Laden and/or enemies of the US supporters. . .you know the saying "kick them when they're down". . .I'm sure this is one of those cases.

To me, it just doesn't logically make sense to go from a mass killing of thousands and destroying of property and then retreat back to a sophmoric tactic as in mailing a letter or two a week. . .at this rate it would take them years to wipe out the country.

i havent read anywhere that we planted the talibon....and the rumors of cia training of bin laden specifically are reported as false....they did train some of the forces fighting russia....it was for that purpose though...not for him to attempt to start a holy war or whatever. i think that bin laden had some success against the soviets and at the same time started gaining influence from some islamic extremists....

I am definitely more careful when opening my mail. . at home and at work. . . after all, I open mail at work for six people (President of the Co, Vice Pres, Director, etc. . )~!! :rolleyes:

My boss recently told me that if I wasn't comfortable opening the mail. . . he would do it~!!!! :eek:
