I smell a scam, but two of my co workers swear by it, and I figure it will show up on here sooner or later, so here goes....
Using the google search engine from the google.com site, if you put in your area code and number, with the appropriate dashes ( but nothing before the area code) it might show you your address and a Map Quest route to your home. I entered mine and got nothing, same with a few other home numbers... i stopped because I smelled a rat, but my two co workers, one who used to be my boss swear by it.
Old saying:
"Something's rotten in the state of Denmark"
Maybe I should search that!

I tried it and it actually brought up the person who had my phone number last and not me.
But it worked for my mother's number.
I'm sure it will work for any listed number, but not unlisted.
www.anywho.com will also do the same if the number is listed.

No scam. Anybody with a listed phone number will be searchable...becaue you (the person with the listed number) decided to have your nubmers listed. And if you are entering the numbers to find a name, it is referred to as a "Reverse phone number lookup". I have never listed my number, so I cannot be easily located by those search tools.
It's quite a great tool...The internet makes it easier, but if you have a listed number and a listed address, anybody can find where you live...and this was true before the internet.

Well I'm listed after years of being unlisted. I found out the phone company will let me list it anyway I choose. So I am listed with a few letters that certain people know to identify me by but not my actual name.
