Could one person live comfortable on $55,000 in Texas, Arizona or Oklahoma, I know different areas cost more to live in. They have those online calculators, but I am not sure if they are very accurate.

It all depends on what are your normal expenses.
For the most part in those places you should be able to get a nice home in that area. Texas and Arizona and Oklahoma.
Now as far as your other expenses, car , insurance and other....
We need to look into that further.

What i've found is that EVERY area has cheaper areas..and expensive areas WITHIN that area...specially LARGE areas like DALLAS/DC/Chicago...
but specifically i have found that DALLAS is a LOT more expensive than i thought it would be.

Exactly, I don't think those national surveys and calculator are right... I was reading the USAToday yesterday, and they had Dallas' home market as one of the lowest nationally... I find that hard to believe, though the offers I have seen is close to what i am currently making... I wonder will I be at the same comfort, if I make the move...
