Wether it be Thanksgiving, Christmas or Kwanza...what childhood and adult memories stand out in your mind?? Good or Bad???

My favorites childhood Christmas memory was when we were living in Knoxville, TN (I was about 4) and we had the house all decorated, fireplace going, and I had tore the place up opening gifts, but my mom and step-dad had one more gift to give me...it was a big box the kept shaking. I was scared at first to open the top , but I did and out jumped a puppy. He was black with a white belley and paws, brown tipped ears. I named him Bilal.

My favorite adult Christmas memory was my first Christmas as a MRS in 1999. It was so romantic. My husband made breakfast for me, and we had our little fire cracklin by our artifical tree
:D . We didn't shower each other in alot of gifts because things were a little tight, but I remember all the love that we shared that day:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: AHHH Newlywedom.

My worst Holiday memory was in 1996, and my mom and I got into a huge fight about a jerk I was dating(I'll save that story for another day). It started(the fight) on Christmas night and I went off and torn down the Kwanza decorations she had just put up around the house and stormed out. I felt really bad the next day about destroying her decorations, but we still weren't talking. I still wanted to give her and my brother their gifts for Kwanza, so I got cards, and wrapped the boxes in beautiful kente cloth paper and put them in the living room where she rehung more decorations, she wrapped the gifts, torn the card and placed the boxes right in front of my room door.:( :( :( I had the worst Holiday. I think we had made admins by Jan 2.

I have more, but I will wait.

My most memorable childhood Christmases were when my brother & I were young. My Uncle Jesse loved to decorate for Christmas. He would have my dad or mom take us to pick out a live tree, then we would go back to his house to untangle the Christmas lights. That pretty much took the rest of the evening, so my parents would take us back to his house the next evening and we would decorate the tree & windows while drinking egg nog and listening to old blues Christmas songs. I miss my Uncle Jesse, he was my favorite uncle and he wasn't even my blood uncle, he was married to my aunt. They both raised my mother and they felt more like grandparents than aunt & uncle.

My parents also provided us with great Christmas memories. I guess my favorite would be the year I got a doll house for Christmas. My parents weren't rich or well off, but my brother and I got pretty much everything we asked for, so did my sister even though she didn't live in our household, she lived with her mother.

My favorite adult holiday would be anytime my family got together. Mainly for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just enjoy being around my family. They are a cast of characters.

Can't say i really have any as for childhood.

But in my adult life...I informed the family i was pregnant with my daughter at Christmas dinner.

My mom fell over...cause all she could think was that she gotta deal with the baby daddy really being about of the family....

Also, my son was not happy at all....see he was the only grandchild and great grandchild at the time on my mothers side...he prayed for a brother, but he got a sister...4 months later i found out she was they...twin girls....i lost my other lil girl....all i will say is...God knew what i could handle...and Lil Miss Thang is 2 of them.

It was the Christmas right around when my parents first separated. I got a strawberry shortcake bike.
